thats like an exterminator releasing bugs in your house and then trying to get you to pay for fumigating it.
 
To me that isn't irony. They show you that you have a need for their product (by popping up), then sell you a product to eliminate that annoyance. What better marketing could there be?

Actually I don't have a need for their product. I shut off my popup blocker for some reason and forgot to turn it back on 😛.
