Talk about computer illiterate...

They were decent computers with an ASUS motherboard, AMD XP2200 processor, 512ram...yadda yadda yadda.
Then the daughter comes to me and asks where they can throw away computers (i though she was talking about the old e-machines that I replaced). It turns out that the parents want to throw away 2 of the 3 that I built because they don't run anymore. She suspects its a virus (I agree).
I didn't even give them the option of throwing them away. I said either give them to me or I could teach them how to reformat.
Just the thought that they might've put them in the dumpster...and wasted all of that.

Yes, people are stupid and hemorrage money needlessly to avoid the headache of cleaning up their messes. You are not the first to discover this.

Some people are like that. They don't know about something they will thow it away. One mans trash is another mans treasure and such.

It's good to be rich and throw away a computer when all you need is clone it w/ a fresh install. Why didn't you just tell them to buy a Mac?

It's because, at the time, I was working for them, and wanted to save them some money. I was their support at the time.
