So the guy down the street had a vote sign that said "Give Bush what he wants, vote straight _" on his lawn. Well, it is his lawn and all so I can't/won't and support his decision to exercise his right to freedom of speech. Well he finally got around to taking it down and puts up a flag with a red/white/blue elephant on it.

So , would you put a political party's (any) flag on your house?

The only Party I detest more than the Democratic Party is the Republican Party.

Please don't bring party names into this thread.

I certainly wouldn't put a flag up for either of them since about 90% of both parties consist of individuals who can best be described as "unflushable turds".

Hell no.

Party lines are for idiots who can't think for themselves. I don't to associate myself with the blind fanatics who strongly believe any position their party hands down. I'm not saying anyone who puts party stuff on their house like that is a party hack, but that's the message it would seem to send.

That was kind of my point with the vote straight <fill in party name> sign. Both parties have bad people.

no.

I just don't get the point... it's not like a sign on my lawn or a bumper sticker on my car is going to somehow change someone's views.

Not that I don't support his right to free speech, but I thought I would point this out:

14 Defining Characteristics of Fascism

1. Powerful and Continuing Nationalism - Fascist regimes tend to make constant use of patriotic mottos, slogans, symbols, songs, and other paraphernalia. Flags are seen everywhere, as are flag symbols on clothing and in public displays.

well, that doesn't explain the national endowment of the arts or state level universities and grants.

11. Disdain for Intellectuals and the Arts - Fascist nations tend to promote and tolerate open hostility to higher education, and academia. It is not uncommon for professors and other academics to be censored or even arrested. Free expression in the arts and letters is openly attacked.

we love hollywood.

Only for entertainment. Any attempt to educate the people is very much discouraged by the current administration.

in schools or in hollywood? because partisan documentaries aren't much for education. I haven't seen the administration do anything to hamper higher education.
