Talk about being hypocritical...

While browsing one of the new "Free IPods" threads, I had noticed it had been locked, and the links deleted.

I couldnt help but glance at the Google ads; low and behold, a link to the same site that the user was advertising!

Try looking for yourselves, here.

I usually block google ads as well, but every once and awhile I find an interesting one here at AT, including the Free Ipods, which I clicked...

It is also, however, hypocritical<hr></blockquote>

trying looking in <a target=_blank class=ftalternatingbarlinklarge href="http://www.dictionary.com">dictionary.com</a> for a definition of hypocritical.

Like where you say someone isn't allowed to do one thing, but then you do it yourself?

Like Anandtech says free iPod links are not allowed, but then it's adverts are of free ipods...

?

Does that mean pr0n ads are coming?<hr></blockquote>

Start a porn or penis enlargement thread and see what the ads are.

lol

Ironic? Yes. Hypocritical? No.

AT doesn't have control over which of the Google Adwords show up on the site and in fact, if the thread had not been about iPods, as such threads are banned here, then that ad wouldn't have shown up. Google uses keywords on pages to place their ads and the ad only showed up because the spammer was promoting the iPod scam.

Couldn't have said it better myself.😀

however, AT does have control over what ads can, and cannot appear.

A simple login to Adsense's filter page allows you to easily enter urls that you wish to block.

So because they didn't take the time to block potential rogue iPod advertisements makes them hypocrites? Riiiight....
