Well, obviously this isn't as bad as it could be, I don't have a hurricane coming towards my house or anything of that nature, but I open my first paycheck from my new job and find out I'm making 80 cents/hr less than I was led to believe I would make. It's not much but over time it adds up and when you're as broke as me that's definitely disappointing.

Now I get to go slave away at Kerouac and my research paper. At least he's an interesting guy.

even though she has a bf i still got the digits

might take her out tonight to teach her how to play pool...apparently her bf has tried to teach her but sucks at it or something

Because I was misinformed I guess. Yes, my friend and I are both going to ask about it. Basically we're after-school daycare and with all the dumb stuff we have to deal with from the elementary school kids that's just another shot to the balls not to make what we asked and were told we could have. (And yesterday we were playing them 5 on 2 in basketball and one little douche actually kicked me from behind in the balls. :|)

Kerouac is a cool guy, I just have trouble reading stream of conscious books sometimes so it's slow going. The biographies are good though.

they let you take care of children?

Hahaha I was waiting for that.

Yup, I'm in charge of about 17 4th through 6th graders.

the worst age. theyll never pay you enough. good oppurtunity to take notes in case you want to have some of your own one day, though.

Yeah. Honestly, they're not that bad. The first few days I gave them the benefit of the doubt and was nice. Soon as I started to discipline them they got their act together. It's funny though, all the tough guy 6th graders have cried at least once since I've been there from stuff other people have said.

It's obvious that a lack of parenting has occurred in many of the cases which is why it's good they're at an after-school program rather than out starting a life that leads to nowhere. Already two of the guys think it's cool that they know what a bong is and various other stuff.

80 cents an hour.. $32 if you're working a 40 hr week, I'd be bringing this issue up 1st thing monday morning, that's a significant amount every month particularly at the level of your wages.

Yup, plan to do so. It's enough that it could pretty much offset what they take out of each paycheck.

80 cents sounds like a lot to me. 40 hours = $32.
