5758 miles in 11 years, or roughly 500 miles driven per year. That would be low even for an exotic, but this is a Honda for god's sake!

I hope they changed the fluids a few times during those 11 years of mostly sitting around.

Yeah I don't think it's selling at that price no matter how "firm" he is. Super low mileage, but it's not exactly a high demand import that is going to draw $ for a super clean one.

I would have to inspect the tires closely as they are probably original and at 11-12 yrs old I would think tire-rot might be an issue. KBB has it at $9,925 from a private-party so he WAY over the listed value, (yea, I know KBB is not the most accurate but it give you a ball-park starting point).

I'd give him 8K that's about as high as I'd go...

Sometimes sitting around a lot can be a bad thing as in AC O-ring seals, engine seals and gaskets that were probably dry for extended periods of time. I would also like to see proof that the oil was changed at least once a year.

KBB for a 04 Accord EX-L V6 with that mileage is $10,413 for "very good" condition and $11,017 for "excellent" condition.

Not disagreeing with you that he overestimated the value quite a bit, but just wanted to put the correct KBB values out there.

To me, a car that sits around is just as bad as high mileage. I would rate the car as "good" starting out and would let the inspection go from there. At barely 50 miles a week, I'd be skeptical that fluids didn't sit more than designed. For comparison, I got a 2003 Mazda 6 with 45k on it for $5k cash.

I tend to agree, things rot over time even if not used.

At least I'd have some one assess it first independently.

Yeah too many of these owners think their low miles means a lot more than they are worth in the used car market.

KBB - "Crushing the aspirations of private party sellers around the nation after a few weeks on the market" 😀

Not surprising considering the area.
The questions is "did they abide by the maintenance schedule (time vs miles) and when will that transmission give up the ghost.
V6+auto in that generation have a high rate of failure.

Agreed.... you never know until you inspect it.... but if everything was fine, and regular maintenance was done, id still only go 8k...

I got that today from KBB but they make you enter a zip code so it might be different depending on location but either way $13K firm he's gonna be sitting on that car for a long time, it's still an '04 model year Honda or not.

It wouldn't surprise me that the car is already sold ... or sells very quickly. People automatically think "new" car when they see that few miles. IMHO not many people consider how time ravages our vehicles and it's parts.
