Check this out...I have an Abit BF6 PIII600@866 system with a Voodoo3 2000 and 512MB of PC133 CAS 2-2-2. Needless to say, I need a video card upgrade REALLY bad. I can't even install 3DMark2001 (no 32bit 3D). :( Well I decided to go for a total upgrade. This is what I picked out:

ECS K7S5A mobo (so I can still use my existing memory)
AMD Athlon XP 1600+
SVC GC68 heatsink/fan
Radeon 8500 LE 64MB

All for $214.40 SHIPPED!! I'm excited! It is definitely not an extreme machine, but damn, it sure is one hell of a bang for the buck. I've got some room to grow with this system too! :) I'll be looking forward to getting an XP 2400+ or 2600+ when the prices fall. :)

P.S. Yes, I still have my P4 system in my sig. I just needed to upgrade this "oldie," for gaming purposes. ;)

Heh, the difference is going to blow you away I bet.
Dude, I'm telling you! I stay away from playing games on this system. Max Payne looks like total ass and so does just about any other game that doesn't use Glide (yes, that basically leaves UT for me to play). :( Anyway, I just put the order through just before I posted, so hopefully it will be here around Wednesday. I'll have my Arctic Silver III in hand waiting for it to arrive! :D It should perform better in games than my P4 system since I just have an old busted up GF 2 Pro on it. :( But the bright side is, that GF 2 Pro is a hell of a lot better than that Voodoo3 2000. :p
