  • The Taliban has put a price of $50 million on President Bush's head - more than doubling the U.S.'s offer of $25 million for the capture or killing of Osama bin Laden.

According to the Russian news service Pravda, the reward was offered by one of the supervisors of Taliban's special services, Mohammad Sayd Hakkani.

Hakkani said the Taliban could afford to outbid the U.S. with its assassin-for-hire offer despite his country's rampant poverty, adding that the U.S. offer would not attract any "true Muslims," who are, of course, beyond all worldly temptation.

"The statement from the Taliban spokesman is meant for the Muslim people first and foremost, and then - for the USA," the Russian news service said.

Damn, for $50 million there are enough crazies in this country (esp. around Berkeley) that Bush better watch himself.

If you were an assasin would you really trust the taliban to deliver on the $50 million?

I didn't know you could offer a bounty that you can't actually PAY....unless OBL thinks he's going to assassinate his entire family and take all their money...
And GW is only worth $50M? sigh....

I don't know. A lot of the folks here seem to be in bed with the Taliban. Seems like some of Osama's biggest fans live around here.

LOL. Yeah, how are they gonna pay, Monopoly money? I ran an equifax credit check on the Taliban and their credit score was 6. They couldn't get a 1 dollar loan from the easiest loanshark in the world so how they gonna pay 50 million bucks.

Anybody notice anything odd about this?????? Maybe it's just me, but, before it was always Omar whom gave the threats and predictions right? As far as I can tell by a quick search, this is the first we've heard from this guy.

All of a sudden after the international media confirms Taleban & al Quaeda headquarters building being hit, they post a $50M price upon Pres. Bush..........but, it isn't Omar doing the speaking..............could Omar have been a casualty??????;) Probably not but.......I just found this odd............;)

Dont want to be picky but doubling $25 million is exactly $50 million, this reward is not "more than doubling the U.S.'s offer" it is exactly doubling the US offer.

Must say, thats easy $75 million ;)

LMAO Yeah, those alcohol-chugging, porn-viewing, stripclub-frequenting terrorists sure were spiritual guys, weren't they? :D

Ha, these idiots never learn. They are all about to die, where are they going to get 50 mill from? Hahaha. Osama and Omar are both dead come Christmas, who cares?

hahaha, sadly, that's probably 50 million that we gave afghanistan to feed people..... guess we should stop worrying about being politically correct and just start crucifying people..... maybe THAT would shut the third world lunatics up

It would be hilarious if someone shot Bush thinking that he'd get the reward. He would go to Kandahar to claim it:

American: Hi, i'm here for the...
Afghani: AMERICAN!!! FIRE!!!
