Taliban Prisoner Joke (If you think that calling a Jewish person a Jew is racism, then don't bother to read this.)

A Taliban prisoner at the AlQaeda containment camp was very sick. None of the American doctors were able to aid him - though they tried thier darndest. A group of the doctors got together in a meeting and discussed his symptoms. Then an Arab-American doctor stood up and said he would take care of him. The rest of the doctors gave him their luck.

The Arab-American doctor met with the sick Taliban prisoner and told him to get a bucket, fill it with sh|t, and stick his head in it. The Taliban prisoner thought this was an unusual form of treatment - but he did as prescribed. Sure enough, he felt much better. His cure seemed nothing short of a miracle. The doctors all got together and decided to ask the Arab-American doctor what was wrong with him.

The Arab-American doctor replied, "He was homesick."

I didn't view this joke as one against the Taliban. I saw it as equating their land with sh*t. Other people live there. It's really degrading. It's just kinda mean, that's all. I don't mean to be all high-and-mighty, I just don't really see the need for this joke.

I don't like the Taliban either people...how could I? Racism and stereotypes are not going to help our matters....

how so? that is probably one of the oft made logical mistakes. If someone kills someone, and then points out that killing is injust, it does mkae him a hypocrite, but it doesnt make his statement about the injustice of murder any less valid.


If I had to guess I would say that he responded in that manner only because he was being lynched. If you re read most of what was written, he politley stated that he thought it was in bad taste. Most of the responses to him were downright rude and in some cases mean.

Bin Laden didn't decide to attack America because of our disrespect for that hole-in-the-ground known as afghanistan.
It's more like this:
He doesn't like Western Culture
He doesn't like Western Influence in the Arab World
He doesn't like the fact Saudi Arabia turned to the U.S. for help in the Gulf War
He wants to topple western friendly arab regimes and instill Taliban-esque governments

How do any of these relate to a silly joke? That's right, they don't.
