A man believed to be a member of the Taliban shot and killed a woman accused of adultery in front of a cheering crowd near the Afghan capital of Kabul. In a 3 minute video obtained by Reuters, a man is seen walking up to a woman kneeling in the dirt and shoots her 9 times at close range with an automatic rifle to cheers from the 150 men watching. As he approached her, another man can be heard saying "Allah warns us not to get close to adultery because it's the wrong way. It is the order of Allah that she be executed." When the woman fell sideways, the spectators chanted: "Long live the Afghan mujahideen! (Islamist fighters)," what the Taliban call themselves- Reuters

Per a complaint, moved from OT and the OP vacationed as this is at least his sixth such violation.

Big deal?! Texas has executed 464 people, and that is just one state. Are we to come into every country and hold them to our perfect system of execution? Perhaps someone violated this woman’s due process rights? There are countries all over the world that have their own form of government and then they act as judge, jury, and executioner. This type of thing happens every day all over the world. It wasn’t that long ago here that stealing a horse would have a posse coming after you and then you would be stung up from the nearest tree, probably with the posse cheering too. That sounds pretty savage too.

There's always an apologist for any kind of behavior.

After seeing the synchronized beheadings video, I refuse to watch any more of these death videos.

That's cruel. Shooting someone from behind at point blank. I am sure Allah is happy.

The Afghan mission failed when it became yet another nation building exercise. The Soviets couldn't win there and they're not exactly known for subtlety. They called it "the bear trap". Of course we supported the mujahideen, because Russia sucks. All that cold war stuff is now coming back to bite us in the ass, on both sides of the curtain.

Yep good thing we've evolved way past that time. It'd be nice if these cockroaches could enter the 20th century.

They still live in Old Testament times, which advocated stoning so this is no different if in fact she committed adultery. 1/3 of the world still believes in Christianity and 1/4 Muslim, so over half the world shouldn't care about this. While it's obviously a harsh/barbaric reaction, it shows that adultery is something that people take very seriously. The lady deserved better.

Makes you all warm and fuzzy knowing that things remain exactly as they were 10, 50, 100, 1000 years ago.

What would you have done with $2,000 Billion and 51,000+ casualties? (Both wars combined)

Exactly. And there would be a thread for it as well. Heck we have threads for lessor tragedies that occur on our shores.

No, don't get me wrong, those videos creep me out. Its just that I did glance at synch beheadings, but the quality was so bad it didn't make me feel sick.

3 guys 1 hammer though... I was curious for whatever reason, but I had to stop that one.

It's what those Muslims in the Middle East do. They've stoned women to death who had affairs as well and supposedly a woman who was raped was also punished since she technically had sex with a man who wasn't her husband. It's fucked up over there.
