Can't wait. I've seen a thread but it may have been in console gaming. I forget the specifics but there are some perks if you preorder this game directly from the site.

Did you guys know that this game is coming out??

Tales of Monkey Island

The game is going to be delivered in 5 episodes, the first coming out July 7.

If you preorder, which involves buying all 5 episodes in advance, you get a special dvd, as well as some special hand drawn artwork on the case. You also get access to special forums where you can chat with the developers (and even give them ideas for the game) and a free Telltale game worth $10.

I went ahead and preordered, just to do my part in showing support of games such as the Monkey Island series. I'm hoping that if the remake and new game sell well enough, it will bring attention to other old classics.

They list all the bonuses on the preorder page, incase I made a mistake while listing them.

I never really checked into it, I'm sure you're right. It's good news.

Didn't know about this either. Can't access the page at work. Anyone know the overall cost for preorder?

From the website: 5 games + Collector's DVD = $34.95 (Offer ends July 6th, 2009)

This looks awesome. I never thought there would be a new MI game.

I don't preorder games though and would rather wait until it's actually out.

couldn't even chat on their forums because they took it down (or maybe it was the angry mob who kept refreshing every 10 seconds or so that did it. lol)

It looks like it's up on Steam. You also get a Wallace and Grimmet game with the purchase.

How did I miss this? Drat!

Didn't LucasArts do the original Monkey Island games? Did Telltale Games buy the rights? Did any of the old crew work on the new game?

As per wiki, Telltale Games is developing the game under license from LucasArts and quite a few developers who were involved in the first two Monkey Island games are actually here as well mate, like Dave Grossman the head of the development team.

More details about the development of the game here:

Game is fun so far. Dunno how long the episode will last, though. The puzzles aren't too difficult or extravagant yet.
