Tale of two rebates.

Rebate #1:
Back in March I get an MSI card from Newegg, it had a $20 rebate and said 8-10 weeks. I printed out the form, filled it out, cut out the UPC, slapped in the packing list that Newegg sent with my order. This week they finally updated the status to rejected because I didn't notice in the fine print that I needed to submit the invoice that I would've had to print off Newegg's site, packing lists and order confirmations aren't allowed. And this took 12-14 weeks. No resubmissions are allowed.

Rebate #2:
Memorial day I buy some paint at Lowes. They print out a rebate receipt, I put my address on there, put it in an envelope, address it, and send it out the next mailing day (which was Tuesday). I have a check in my hand now. No UPCs, no waiting three months. Just "Thanks for your business, here's your money."


...why can't they all be like #2?!

Thank the scammers...also AFAIK you need UPC's for paint rebates unless the UPC is part of the can.

My lowes rebates on all my gallons required the UPC to be sent in. Even though I had 1 more on my reciept, without the upc they did not pay it. (I forgot to mail it).

My paint cans are both completely in tact. UPC and all. It might've been because with a custom color (not white) there's no way to return them anyways.

I've always printed the invoice...the rebate instructions specifically request an invoice.

My MSI rebate still isn't here, though - and it's been a while.

I really hate MIRs. I bought the Zonet USB wireless module for my girlfriend back in early January when e-wiz was doing 88 cents after rebate. Sent off the rebate on the 14th. Didn't get the check till June 8th.
