Alright, so as we all know, a college network is much different then a 4 computer LAN at home. Since it's right around the corner, I was wondering if anyone could give me any tips or precautions I should take before I put my computer on the college network.

Things I've already done:
Anti-Virus installed with bi-weekly updates scheduled
Kerio Personal Firewall installed
Disabled all file/printer sharing
Disabled sharing in P2P and Bittorrent clients
Ad-Aware installed
FireFox is my default browser

So any other things I should do?

you've done a lot more than many others will ever do

you may want to consider turning off unneeded services such windows messanger, remote help, wireless zero config, etc
also, make sure you have all shares turned off or read-only

Some schools are moving to lock down their networks more. I know we are.

You'll want to check if they FORCE their students to use a specific virus scanner. We are moving all students to McAfee, and I know other schools Norton. So the policy says you have to uninstall whatever else you have to comply, or you can't get network access...
