I just ended my 2nd summer school session, so I'm on summer break and don't start classes until the 30th. I decided I'd take the GRE's sometime in the next two weeks, so I called to make an appointment today, thinking that I can easily make an appointment for next week. Turns out that all the local testing centers are full, and the latest testing date that I could get is this coming Friday (9/20) I'm guessing that since they're gonna add a writing assessment portion to the GREs on Oct. 1st, a lot of people are trying to take the test before they change the test. I guess it's time to start taking more practice exams :)

oh yeah i remember the GRE... got an 800 in math and a 400 in english. Yes, i'm one of those asian math nerds that speak fobbish. Well, I don't have a fob accent but my english is horrible. Don't get distracted by the pretty chicks next to you when taking the test

Make sure you SLEEP well the night before. I wanted to kill our cat because he kept waking me up by meowing and then running away. If you are prone to restless sleep, take a mild sleeping aid. That will help you more than anything else.

basically. it's the graduate record exam, covering logic, verbal, and mathematical abilities. no field specific content on the general test.

My wife took that today. She did pretty good on it. Expensive as hell to take though.
