Taking the bait for credit protector plus

Ever since about ~4 years ago, I have been getting $2 checks from my credit card companies on the terms that if I cash them, I will automatically be signed up for credit protector plus. No one with any common sense would sign up for this program because it is such a rip off but that is exactly why they offer it to you every time you call. Anyway, they figured that I don't take their cheap bait so now they send $15 checks with the same terms. When you are signed up, you are enrolled in a 30 day free trial. I figure I will cash the check and then cancel the service within the free trial period (or more like the next day to send the message that I NEVER intended to stick with the stupid service).

I don't see how I can actually lose. It doesn't seem like I would ever have to pay anything for making $15. Does anyone else ever cash these and can confirm that it will cost me nothing? If so, I think I will cash one of these. I bet they will stop sending them after I cancel the service.

I did it before for $12 bucks. They did cancel it but they spent 20 minutes on the phone trying to convince me to keep it.

I'd expect that much. I called SBC a few days ago to cancel AT&T long distance and I was on the phone for at least 10 minutes wait and 20 minutes for them to try to get me to sign up for their long distance, caller ID, and DSL. Very annoying but for $15, I think I can suck it up.

When I endorse those type of checks, I put the word CANCEL SERVICE across the terms.

My banks takes them, and I never seem to get charged, I also helps that they originally got the number from a one time use card.
