Anything in excess can be toxic. In my opinion that is way too much to take. Daily Value is only 60mg.
I don't see how it could be detrimental....
It seems there is a potential for increased heart disease when taking too much C

The toxic level of exposure for Vit C is extremely high, IIRC. Vit C is water soluable, so it doesn't accumulate.
You're just going to urinate out most of it, especially if you don't take it with a meal. Look for the yellow urine.
Ranges anywhere from 1000mg to 25,000mg.
The excess just passes out in your urine.
Keep in mind that your body gets used to the high levels, and if you go cold turkey off it you can actually give yourself scurvy.

Excess Vitamin C also leads to higher cholesterol and other nutritional deficiences.
I think you will be healthy. I take 2 or 3 grams a day and feel great!

That is way too much.
B vitamins cause yellow urine. Not sure if Vitamin C affects it.

Wow, thats incredible. You're taking 3000mg of C every day and you're urinating out exactly 3000mb of vitamin C every single day too! Wild!
Well... you live in California... so i'm sure a lot of that dosage is offset by the heavy pollution we're breathing.
If you want to be a Guinee Pig, go ahead. The most I've ever taken is 500mg/day when having a Cold, but it should be noted that the recommended amount is <100mg/day.
Well, i haven't taken that much, just read up on it. So i'm guessing one 500mg tablet (that's what the Nature Made portion is) should be sufficient.
Well... I mean, it seems that 1000mg vitamin C pills are common. I have some right here, which is 1667% of your RDV.
If I feel like I'm starting to get sick, I'll take 2 a day - one in the morning and one at night, along with 3 - 500mg of echinacea. It's worked for me about 85% of the time, it seems.
I don't take 1 pill, let alone 3, every day though.
