Taking most BS class ever...

Grrrrr.... it is pissing me off:|

It is Anthropology 110. It fills a requirement for my major and I thought maybe it would be interesting. Supposedly we are to learn about other cultures. I figure it will be a easy class with some interesting aspects to it.

It is a video class. No teacher, you just watch a video and do reading on your own. I got the book, and read the first chapter (about 30 pages). It explains a bit about the anthropological field, and then goes on to praise what a great field of study it is. BS stuff like "while Sociology takes surveys from participants, and Psychology conducts experiments on subjects, Anthropology learns from informants. This gives it a more holistic approach." and "of all fields of study, Anthropology is the one that represents the Humanities to the fullest degree." It goes on and on like this. So I think "this book is going to suck... maybe the videos will be interesting."

Thus far, I have learned a little bit about other cultures, but the bulk of the productions have been "experts" in the field praising Anthropology and Anthropological research. And how they "can't believe they get paid to be and Anthropologist it is so rewarding."

Oh well, it should be an easy A but it is SOOO annoying sitting in class listening to this, or reading about it.

a good friend of mine majored in Anthropology

All the classes he went through sounded pretty interesting to me

To each his own I guess

It is not that I am not interested in other cultures... I am. That is why I took it. I don't think I made myself clear in my origional post.

Here is more what I mean. This is how the class is being taught so far:

"Anthropology is the greatest EVAR!!!"
"Anthropology is the greatest EVAR!!!"
"Anthropology is the greatest EVAR!!!"
"Anthropology is the greatest EVAR!!!"
"Anthropology is the greatest EVAR!!!"
"Anthropology is the greatest EVAR!!!"
"Anthropology is the greatest EVAR!!!"

I am learning NOTHING about other cultures, just how "great" anthropology is.

Im doing some business classes for a minor now, after looking at EE for a whole quarter, this stuff is just too easy.
