Taking employees to strip clubs to boost morale. What if there are female employees in the group?

From all the recent stripper threads that have popped up, it reminded me of a friend who worked in the tech field. at his place, his dept is all male. Morale was low because of layoffs/cutbacks on perks (suck as training/bonuses). so one day his manager says he's going to a strip club after work, and asked if anybody would like to join him. My friend, and a few of his co-workers did, and had a blast. after that, their morale picked up. and others noticing their good morale also started to be in a better mood. it was like a snowball effect.

now the manager did nothing wrong since this was after work, and no company funds were used. it's like going to a bar after work to socialize.

now if you were the manager, and had female employees, would you do the same?

as for me, i would. my opionion is that the company cant tell me what i can or cant do after work. or who i can invite or hang out with.

Yeah I would do it, assuming I felt like having a harassment lawsuit slapped on my ass.

If I was in the manager's shoes, I would take the male employees out to a female strip club and then take the female employees out to a male strip club granted people wanted to go.

I'd offer once. If it didn't go over well, the next time it would just be a general bar or sports bar.

invite the females to a private male stripclub later at your house.

then get fired and be sued of course.

um..no...suggestion that to the female employees would constitute sexaul harassment. even if you said it as a jest and know that girl doesnt mind, you've never knew who might overhear it and take it the wrong way

When I was a contractor and still single, our group of males went out a few times to the SC. It was interesting and a good way to 'bond' I guess. My wife (still dating at the time) put a stop to that. Not that I care, It's not a big deal but I do miss the camaraderie that went along with it. Just a place for guys to be guys.

OTOH, we did have some females on our team that also hung out with us at other events, while they were welcome to join us they didn't (not a surprise). So we'd usually go hang out at some sports bar place with EVERYONE and drink and eat appetizers and after the women folk and the whipped guys (myself eventually to be one of them) went home the rest of the pack went to go spend lots of money on hopeless causes. ;)

I'd opt for a less potentially offensive destination if there were women or even guys who could potentially be offended at that kind of thing.

Seeing a bunch USDA prime but not getting to touch it seems an odd way to boost moral. Blue balls and broke is more like it.

We went to lunch one day at Hooters. Granted, Hooters isn't a strip club, but our supervisor wouldn't attend because of the location - which was good because he was an ass anyway. However, I didn't think this was a very comfortable environment for the ladies in our group. If there were to be another event at Hooters, I wouldn't attend because there's not much there for the ladies who work with us.

Now, since this is a strip club event you're talking about - no way. The ladies should not be invited to this event. There are much better events that could be inclusive of the ladies (e.g. - an evening of playing pool, with drinks and appetizers. In the end, everyone would have fun.
