I've got all the supplies for a molex connector mod project, in which I'm going to install LEDs in the molex connectors to add a little flash into my case.

To get the LEDs in there, I need to take the pins out of the molex connectors. I managed to get the 5V wire out, just by pulling hard on it, but that won't work for the rest.

Do you guys have any tips about getting the wires out? I know there are some little "claws" that are holding it there that I need to depress, and I've already tried in vain to do that.

Thanks in advance, guys.

If you pull hard enough to pull it out, then the metal tabs are going to bend the wrong way, and it makes putting them back in a PITA. Did you get tools for removing the molex connectors?

Good tools+fair price

On the cheap.......Take a large female pin that's not in a shell, open it carefully using a drill bit, just press the drill into it to spread it yet keep it round. Use the shank of the bit not the cutting end :D
Now use this female Molex as a removal tool. It should just be able to have it's ID fit over the OD of the pins in the shell.

Get it!!

So, I stick the drill in there just to make sure it will come out easily later?

Sounds like a pretty good idea.
