Taking apart 06 Jetta Dash *Update*

I'm installing a sound system into my friend's 06 Jetta, and I can figure things out taking them apart by myself but I just want to know if there are any tutorials that would make it easier for me. I've got to run a 5 gauge wire through the firewall and I can tell right now it's gonna be a huge bitch. Do any of you know a resource site that would help me any? Thanks!

*4/19 Update*

So I started taking apart the dash and got the face plate off from around the radio and stuff but it was complicated and I thought I was gonna bust a few parts doing it. I have to go purchase a wiring guide or a aftermarket wiring harness just to find out which wires are which though. I tried to take the part under the steering wheel apart but I couldn't figure out what the hell they had done to secure the panel around the area of the light switch. that's gonna be a hell of a time getting thru the firewall.

I understand where you're coming from... Sort of. I just don't want to break anything on his car even though I'm pretty confident I won't, and I want it to go as fast as possible. I've never taken any other dash apart except for my '02 dodge stratus dash like 20 times.

Crutchfield? Sometimes you can get them to send you a Master Sheet for free, if you're nice enough to the operator.

BTW, where do you get 5 gauge cable? I usually see just 8, 4, 2, 1/0 gauge.
