Tell me if you like this poem, or if there is anything I can do to make it better.
It?s a bright world out there
Have you seen it?
Have you walked in the shade of a thousand pine trees?
Have you climbed a peak and gazed at the world underneath?
Have you crossed a barren land, were no life seems to grow?
Have you?
Have you seen it?
Have you lived it?
Can you believe it?
There is more then school
more the college
more then landing that ?perfect job?
and more then the next big step.
Step out of your four walled boxes, the prisons you so willingly lock yourselves in,
And step into your life.
Walk under the trees and stare up, letting the patches of sunlight guide your path.
Climb to the top, and as you do, stop to take a look around, while you slowly trudge on.
Roam the deserts, seeking out what few have seen, leaning what fewer have yet to understand.
But don?t stop there,
Walk in the grasses, let them brush up against your leg, scratching and itching.
Get your feet dirty, because you can?t feel the ground through your hard rubber soles.
Come home late, or not at all, the day is short and you?ll miss something if you don?t wait for it.
Run in the hills and watch the deer graze while the birds soar well over head.
Do all of these wonderful things
But most important of all
Live a little.
Cast aside the ball and chain that society hands you,
Crossover the boundary and see what?s on the other side
It?s a bright world out here.
Understand that life ends before you know it.
So come on, take off your shoes and walk with me.
Come see what you have missed; witness the beauty that is in your backyard, in the hills and all around you.
Your life has no bounds
Why not set it free?
It?s a bright world out there
Have you seen it?
Have you walked in the shade of a thousand pine trees?
Have you climbed a peak and gazed at the world underneath?
Have you crossed a barren land, were no life seems to grow?
Have you?
