Take a look at the new rig and its 3Dmark scores...

Ok guys, got the parts in and just finished building the rig 2 days ago. Here are the parts:

1 GB PC3200 (2X512) Dual Channel
Athlon 64 3500+
Asus A8V Deluxe

My old system was:
- Athlon 2800XP
- 1GB of PC2700 Kingston Value RAM
- 6800 Ultra (Needless to say, I carried the VC over to this new rig.)

As you can see, I've added my stats from 3Dmark from the new build. I know that the benchmark is highly GPU dependant, but I must admit that I was expecting a better showing from the Athlon 64. Does this look correct guys?

3DMark03
Athlon 2800 XP @ 2005 MHz + 1GB PC2700 + 6800 Ultra = 11515

Athlon64 3500 @ 2203 MHz + 1GB PC3200 + 6800 Ultra = 12192

3DMark05
Athlon 2800 XP @ 1976 MHz + 1GB PC2700 + 6800 Ultra = 4200

Athlon64 3500 @ 2203 MHz + 1GB PC3200 + 6800 Ultra = 5127

Aquamark 3
Athlon64 3500 @ 2203 MHz + 1GB PC3200 + 6800 Ultra = 63,633

I would also like to check out some other benches to run, any suggestions? Is SiSoft Sandra still good?

Yes, I did post this already but you were the only person to respond to it. 😛 Did you see my response to you post?

Looks normal. CPU hardly touches 3dMark, it's all about the GPU. I OC'd my 3000+ to 3500+ speeds and gained about 200 points. Real world game performance, however, was greatly improved in games that make heavy use of the CPU (Half-Life 2 comes directly to mind...went from about 80FPS average to about 105 average. CPU was getting those physics and sounds and AI through the chute faster).

Just more proof that 3dMark is pretty useless as a benchmark. I mainly keep it around as a tool to stress test GPU overclocks.

ok guys, i got aquamark in there as well.
