The articles on sharpening are a good read; I like Smart Sharpen, but there are better methods that are more time intensive.

As for image gallery software, it depends on your needs. My galleries are typically between 10-20 photos, no particular order, just my best shots on any given subject/location; I use SimpleViewer or PostcardViewer. They both use flash, but have an extremely small footprint, images are pre-loaded in the background so there is less waiting, and they look snazzy. Both SimpleViewer and PostcardViewer have Picasa plugins that make it incredibly simple to generate galleries. If you are making huge albums, you might prefer gallery software that has more structured navigation.

After you post process, save a copy for your own use, and save a 800x600 pixel (maybe slightly bigger) copy for your web gallery.
