Any one vouch for this company? I've used allmediaoutlet and NewEgg mainly for my media. I've got a Primera DVD duplicator that these would go very nicely with.

supermediastore is anyone's best bet. I mean, it isn't worth the $5 to take a chance at getting fake crap media.

for the record, I regularely burn these discs at 12X, only because my burner detects them as 12X 😉

gatta love ty.

Depends on you DVD burner and the firmware. You should always keep the firmware updated to get the best compatibility and reliability.

Down to $77.99 for 200. $.039 each

but if you buy 600 it is back up to $.04 per hehe

Just so that no one gets confused, its actually $0.39 and $0.40. Less than a nickel would be pretty sweet though.😉

Silver Thermal Lacquer is for thermal printers. For white inkjet and silver inkjet printable, you can print directly on the top surface if you have CD/DVD printers like Epson R200/300/320. They have special coating on the top surface to absorb inks. Everest printable is silver thermal hub printable specially design for Everest thermal printer which is for professional users.

Are most people here using Epson printers to print on these things? How are the results? Anyone know of any sites that have good pictures of printed discs?

Also, I understand that the European versions of Canon printers can print on discs but for some reason they haven't introduced this feature for their US models. Anyone know what's up with this and if/when we can expect to see Canon printers with this feature in the US?

Thanks.

Curious about this as well. Printable vs lightscribe etc.

I have an Epson R200. It is a photo quality printer, so the print on the disc is as good as the image file that you use. Peoples jaws usually drop when I show them the discs. Especially when they see that it is not a label.

You're kidding right? How can you compare lightscribe to printable? Printable looks like a real disc, lightscribe looks like it's etched.

There are 2 reasons that I can think of that you would consider using lightscribe. There are no consumables (ink, but lightscribe discs are expensive right? so. um.) and the light scribe "printer" is built into the dvd burner so you don't have extra equipment (but you have a printer anyways right?)

I think it's a no brainer, I love my epson. I would love it more if the ink wasn't so damn expensive, but I love it all the same.

popular DVD/CD inkjet printers for home users are Epson R200/R300/R320 series. the results are pretty good. you can search online for other people reviews for those printers. To get good print quality, DON'T forget good qualilty printable discs like Taiyo Yuden.

The Canon, 3,4,5,6 and 8000 series could also mod to do CD printing. Just need to got the CD tray off eGay and enable CD printing in the printer frimware.

I purchased 100-pk spindle of unbranded Taiyo Yuden Silver Inkjet Printable CD-R from Chiefvalue.com (Newegg.com sister company) several months ago, which I only just began using a couple weeks ago. I don't know what kind of surface coating is on these, but I discovered yesterday that it will readily dissolve in water.

I tried to wipe some grime and fingerprints off the surface with a slightly damp cloth and it basically made glue. Fibers from the cloth began pulling off and sticking to the surface coating. I dampened the cloth a little more and it only got worse. I wet the cloth more and the surface became slick to the touch, more like slimey. There were also very small and grainy particles in whatever this goo was. I then rubbed the surface with my fingers under running water and I could see the coating break down.

Tried to wash it all off but it remained sticky, I couldn't dry it with any cloth. I tossed it in the trash. I'm not sure what to do with the 80 or so discs I have left. Chiefvalue doesn't have the Item Code anymore: 17-172-101 CD-R|TAIYO 52X PRT 100PK
