I just landed two hours ago.

Nice place. Mountains just shooting up out of the sea and very dark green. Temps are about 86 and it's sort of humid. Kind of like Florida in the spring.

I'm in dowtown Taipei right now. Sort of reminds me of Pittsburgh. 🙂 Traffic's not too bad considering I just drove in through morning rush hour... except those scooters will swarm you like a bunch of gnats!

Not much Engrish. Everything is in English and Mandarin. Everyone in the airport and hotel greeted me in English. That right there makes it better than Miami. In Miami, the default language is Spanish.

The hotel room is different. I have a futon for a bed. It's about 8" off the ground. And in my fridge, there's some drink called "Pocari Sweat." Sweat, not Sweet. Doesn't sound too appetizing.

Its a sports drink, tastes pretty good.

Wait til the night markets up and about, MRT to station Shiling for a sample.

Enjoy your stay 🙂

Another guy heading to Computex? Nice.

Pocari Sweat is actually a pretty decent drink.

Hmm... Tastes like ooooooold school Gatorade. Back where there was only the lemon-lime flavor. It IS pretty good.

Probably just what I needed after a 20 hour flight! 😀

pocari sweat is awesome

great hangover drink... had it in japan when i was there a few years ago. would love to visit tw sometime too

man. i was just there. 10 day stop before taking off for china. I've been to taiwan 8 or 9 times now, personally I hate the place, although it's probably more because of my living situations when im back there more than the place itself. Taipei 101 is a lot of fun. Those scooters provide an exhilarating experience if u get to ride on one.

And in my personal opinion, girls in china (well, at least hong kong and nearby shenzhen) are about 100x better than girls in taiwan

is there a drain in the middle of the bathroom?

Ah! Good call. I guess if the bathroom floods, it doesn't get into the rest of the room.

I just keep stubbing my toe heading out of the bathroom. 🙁

I just had a two hour session with dim sum, so now it's nappy time. 🙂

I have never been to Taiwan, even though my parents are from there. 🙁 I will one day. I have heard of this one famous restaurant there you will have to check out before you leave. Apparently they make really good dumplings.

As long as war doesn't begin (Main screen turn on!) while I'm on this island.

Hey... question.. How come none of the outlets have a ground pin? Is the island not grounded? 😉

you can get good xaio long baos from street vendors too... cheaper by the dozen...

i need to stock up on cigarette lighters, they look neat, cheap, and usually made in china, but breaks easily after repeated use. but it can be a good icebreaker when a hot blond asks you for a light in a club, (make sure the flame output is at the max)

yea Taiwan is awesome...did you actually drive or did you meam riding on the way in? if you actually drove that's pretty crazy...the scooters are out of control 😛
