I heard in the NYC AM radio talk station, Taiwan is looking for a seat in the UN. We all know the big brother China dont want the revolt inland to be independent for the economic ties with the West, we saw how the president warned China 3 years ago after the spy plane issue. US wants Taiwan to be independent ? o just dont care about the issue and keep the economic ties with the revolt Province.

Taiwan has petitioned for a seat every year and, as long as China is around, will never get it. The UN agreed 30 years ago that Taiwan was a rogue province and still does, regardless of what the US does under the table.

"rogue nation"? I don't think so. Taiwan has its own government, a government that is much more democratic and humane I might add, and haven't have any hostility towards China or any other country for at least the last 15 years. It also has one of the strongest economy in Asia, a top supplier of technology products. It qualifies as a country in any standard.

The only reason Taiwan doesn't have a seat is that China will never let that happen and is willing to start a war if that ever happens. And every country including United State won't risk alienating China over Taiwan. Just an example of how the world works, power talks.

even though Taiwan is bascially its own country, it will never get the recognition that it demands from other countries, simply because nobody wants to piss off china, there are many advantages to be had economically if they were on good terms with China and nobody is willing to risk that for Taiwan.

I forget who had this in their sig, but "I'm in favor of one China. A China ruled by Taiwan." Seriously, the Chinese government is holding back the largest country in the world with their stupid ideas of economics and "social obligation". Communisms doesn't work, can't be made to work, and China could be so much more if the backwards idiots running the country would just admit that and let China join the ranks of developed countries.

Of course they won't because "honor" is such a big thing over there, and they wouldn't want to lose face.

China has been moving away from "Communism" for nearly 2 decades. They have chosen a different path than the one chosen by the USSR, but they are transforming to a capitalist type system.
