the worst has materialized. it was the last chance to save taiwan from doom and now they blow it. i guess it'll be the final stretch of ethnic dividing and jeapordizing peace in the east pacific for chen as he leads the country further down the path to destruction.
yeah ... the terrorist(s) that shot at Chen have won.
The opposition party (more conciliatory towards red China) was leading in all unoffical tracking polls before the assassination attempt and then afterwards, the incumbent president just barely won.
so Chen is leading them down the path to destruction and doom... who is going to do the destruction? I find it sad that you are going to support red communist china over a democracy where over 80% of the 16 million eligible voters just voted for their leader.
I think that even Chen realizes that the VAST majority of people want the status quo. It is china that resorts to sabre rattling.
i like how everybody proceeds under the name and cover of "democracy". to address the second part of your post, i dont know where you get the idea that china is stirring trouble from. last time i checked, it seems to be taiwan that is trying to change the status-quo, provoking with inflamatory remarks, and misleading his own people- despite warnings from the US (whom chen so desperately wants to catalyze a war for). so what if 50% voted him into office? people often do themselves harm unknowingly.
you say he is trying to UNITE taiwan? hell, he has divided taiwan. with the problem being 10x more severe than years before.
"Taiwan should be ruled by Taiwanese, not mainlander."
ah, a pristine example. you've got to hand it to him though, he sure is good at manipulation. you want more proof? try being a mainlander and take a stroll around southern taiwan and see what type of a pleasant time people will give you.
Haha! Sour losers! TAKE THAT! SUCKERS!
Say all that you want, it's A-Bien who won the election! Have a little respect, please!
Taiwan should be ruled by Taiwanese, not mainlander. What's wrong with that? Dude...please wake up! Chen won last time, and he won it again this time! If you can get any lesson out of these 2 elections, it would be that Taiwanese people don't want mainlander to rule them!! This should be clear and loud by now!
China currently has approximately 650 missles aiming at Taiwan. Yeah...you like it when someone point a gun at you, don't u?
Democracy? Got a problem with that? Try telling that to 200 million american.
Finally, my words of advice: Don't sound like a cry baby. Have a little respect to Taiwan's election. We aren't as dumb as you think we are.
