I heard that a Taisol CGK7492whatever wouldn't fit on a MSI K7TPro2
AFTER I bought them Well, it happens that is true. how do I get the oversized HSF to fit, or how do I
downsize it?

Well, basically, will it hurt the Taisol if I use a power sander on it? :D

Man! That's tough. I don't see how you would hurt the HSF if you had to saw it, as long as all the necessary things are intact. It won't be at optimal performance, but it should work. Good luck!

I have that same combo, I broke off the upper right fin, hacksawed the corner off, then finished it off with a file. I have my 750 Duron @950 and I get 41C idle and 45C under max load, I also wet sanded the base of the heatsink to make it smoother and I'm using Actic Silver. I dont think it effected the performance much, if any! It only took about 10 mins. to get it to fit, good luck.

Yup, I've heard from a few sources that filing the heatsink down a little bit on one side should do the trick, and shouldn't do you any harm. Good luck :)
