I'm building a new computer and on the advice of a friend I went with the forged Taisol heatsink w/Artic Silver II (and upgraded the fan to the Sunon 24CFM). Will this be sufficient for the following rig if not overclocked? What if overclocked?

Athlon 1800+ XP
Epox Ep-8KHA+
512mb PC2100
3 80mm case fans
IBM 60gb 60GXP 7200rpm
DVD 16x/40x
Enermax 350w Dual Fan PS

That's probably more than enough information...
Thanks,

BTW Taisol was also recommended since this machine will (hopefully) be attending many LAN parties and the clip on the Taisol (according to my friend) makes it much more secure and less likely to skew during transport, wrecking the processor.
Hints/tips/opinions?

I had that heatsink until I started watercooling, which is when I passed it to my friend. It is one of the best I haved used, but my usage list doesn't include Alpha or Swiftech. I would recommend it but why not go with the Alpha for $30 bucks?

The Tiasol comes with a great fan, a fairly quiet Delta, that also moves a lot of air when 7volted (or 12volted). The clip is firm, but not too hard to get on or off. It kept my Tbird 1.2 @ 1.35 running at 40 c idle. If you need more info, drop me a PM.

Yeah, Taisol makes some excellent heatsinks. I run one on my LAN box and it keeps the 800MHz TBird (running everything at stock) around 36C idle, 40C under load (this is with a buttload of case fans). The heatsink should be more than enough to keep your CPU cool.

I agree I have one and its the best I have used, keeps my XP 1600@ 1550 at 38c idle 42 load. plus is is the best heatsink for getting on and off your cpu without chipping core, not like the others i have used that are a pain to put on.

Im using the taisol and its keeping my cpu temp on my 1g thunderbird at 33c idle and 42 under load. i also am using a 80mm sunon case fan in the rear. i would go with taisol if i were you. good choice imho.
