Ok, I've been looking around..and well, I'm gettin ready to finish my new rig. I'm doing a lot of things that I have never done before, for starters, building it myself!! Second, I need advice on if this will be a good heat sink for a Tbird 800 that will probably get oc'ed. Also, I need to know how to apply the arctic silver stuff to my heat sink. From what I have seen on other sites, it beats the hell out of the thermal contact pad!! Any Suggestions or pointers in the right direction would be helpful.

Thank you,
Gariig

The Taisol should be just fine. To install just put a small dab of Artic Silver on the CPU Die, and rub it around with your finger to just cover the CPU die, not the entire CPU. Don't put too much, but don't put to less as to where the Artic Silver looks translucent.

I'm sure I'm missing something, so someone else will have to finish up :D I'm sure there are some guides already made out too on websites. Just can't think of any. Good Luck though!

The taisol already comes with the chromerics t725 phase change pad on it which will do just fine if you are not planning on oc'ing. If you do decide to use the artic silver the first thing your going to have to do is remove that pad. other people here should be able to tell you how to do that alot better than i can. BTW that is a big heat sink so just make sure that whatever board your using will have the space to fit it.

don't use your finger to spread arctic silver. use a flat card or old credit card or something.

To remove the old pad, you'll need to use either Vegetable oil, Goo-Gone or Butane.
