Snow+ rain = slush

Wet snow. Ice in the morning. Slush in the afternoon.

Go to Kirkwood for the best snow.

I was at Kirkwood last weekend (I go there about 3 times a month) and it was pretty nice. A little slushy in the afternoon, areas of nice powder, etc. The moguls were icy though. The conditions are still great to go and have some fun.

If all goes well, I'll be up there not this coming weekend, but the following, at either Kirkwood or Heavenly. Hopefully, the conditions will hold out. :)

sierrasnowboard.com or whiskeymilitia.com usually has some good deals.

Man... It sucks. I didn't really get a chance to say goodbye to the boarding season.

Thanks everyone - I think we'll be hitting up Kirkwood this weekend. Even if the conditions aren't ideal, I need to get at least one more day in.

Any suggestions on the best way to get there from SF? Google maps shows 80E to 50E to CA16 and CA88.

Kirkwood has directions on their website to go down to 580E to 205 to 5 to 4 to Route 99 to Route 88.

Any recos on which should be quicker?
