i was looking at the enermax noisetaker 475w, but found this tagan one, which seems to have good reviews and some things i like the look of (twisted cables, makes less clutter, lots of molexes, high 12v, not that enermax doesn't too)

tagan:
3.3V --- 28A
5V --- 48A
12V --- 28A

enermax:
3.3V --- 34A
5V --- 40A
12V --- 16A+15A (2 rails)

one of the main things i need to know is whether two smaller 12v rails is better than one bigger one...

There's been some bad reports about tagan going around.
It sounds like the units given to reviewers are higher quality than what you usually buy, and I've heard of some people buying them new in box with the warrenty tape broken.

I'm not sure where I heard this from. It was either here, 2cpu.com, or silentpcreview.com.

I've been hearing similar things as well about the "lesser" quality US units, I'd like to see some proof to this on way or the other...

I can say I'm very happy with my Tagan, very high quality construction, rock solid power and dead silent.

I should also state that my unit come in retail packaging with both English and German, it was also before Tagan was widely available here so may not be the same as the units being currently sold in the states.
