Tagan 480 no good?

Just replaced my antec sl350 PSU with a tagan 480. My sl350 worked fine I am just preparing to overclock my system and was afraid there was not enough power. Now with the tagan, when I play Far Cry, the system reboots after about 10 minutes of play. It attempts to reboot about 3 times (a couple of seconds for each attempt) before sucessfully starting up. Works fine if I don't play Far Cry. I tried switching molex connectors on the video card and relocating the ground wire from the case metal to the mb mounting screw. Still reboots.

System:

Abit AV8 mb
amd 3500+ socket 939 processor
gigabyte 6800gt agp video adapter
4 x 256 corsair xms memory
1 SATA hdd
1 PCI hdd
1 PCI cdrom
1 PCI dvdrom
2 - 120 mm case fans

Defective PSU or is there a compatibility problem with the 6800gt?

Haven't used a tagan but from everything i have read they seem to have a lot Of QC problems. check out the system endurance test at Toms hardware and see what happened to the tagan they were using in one of the test systems. According to them they have had several Tagans fail in their labs in the past few months. Apparently there seems to be some issues with the 5 volt lines in some of the Tagans. I pretty much stay exclusively with Antec myself. They have never let me down.

Yep, I never mess with unknown brand PSU. I've seen quite a few posts re.problems with tagan. Live and learn...

They had more than just 1 crap on them. from your linked page:
Tagan's weaknesses are not new to us. A total of five power supplies suddenly failed in our labs during the past year.

unless they are literally using over 1 thousand Tagans which i highly doubt probably no more than a dozen that is an incredibly high failure rate.
