fiancee wants to look more fit for our wedding in Sept.. is tae bo a good way to go ? Or is it a gimmick - is plain exercise still the best way to tone?

I've seen the commercials and it looks pretty high impact and not dull...

If you really want results, I say do the Body For Life Challenge. You will be ripped. I'm on week 3, and I've already lost 15 lbs, and put on 4lbs of muscle. Its intense, but you stick with it, I guarantee results. Here's the website.

Oh wait, this is for your girl? Nevermind. I hate muscular chicks. Just have her do pilates or something.

cardio five days a week... as long as Tae Bo gets her heart rate up for more then 30 minutes it should work.

My wife did it for a while but still needed to do some regular workouts to help. It does not shape the body like it should. A good physical workout is still the best way to go, IMO.

If your fiancee isn't Jessica Alba or Elisha Cuthbert I'm going to be very disappointed.

You mean she doesn't sit in front of a computer every day drinking Mt Dew?

Are you talking about taking a Tae Bo class or just buying the video? If you are talking about joining the class then Tae Bo is a very fast and intense cardio workout, but if you are talking about buying the video and workout at home don't bother. It becomes very boring after a couple of sessions. Combine cardio, weight training and healthy eating diet and your fiancee will be in shape for your wedding. Just remember healthy eating is the most important of the three.

Tae Bo is an awesome workout, no doubt about that. If you really work at it, you'll burn a lot!

for me, personally, i prefer just plain running. It's the sorta thing that never gets boring, especially since it's one of the few precious moments of peace I experience every day late at night. I'm not sure how Tae Bo works, but I'm assuming that all cardio work is equal in terms of productivity (but maybe not motivation).

edit- oh yeah, and it's free :)
