There are levels of affection within any family. He simply wishes to sell to his brothers and sisters before his cousins (who will still get a chance before the general population). Don't worry, Osmo. I'm sure that the DPC will get first dibs on any cpu-destroying mobo he wishes to relinquish.

you mean like a TBird board with an intermitant fan connector.:D

Or a CPU fan that stops working when it heats up?:D

While I appreciate Stanman's sentiment in offering to his MT first, I must say that this BBS is probably not the place to do it. We already have enough divisiveness issues on the team without adding another.

Does TA Cube have a forum to call its own? I know that Hardware Hot Talk is owned and operted by Borg Primus (;)), perhaps that would be a good place for an offer extended to only a specific team.

What I'm NOT saying is that the Borg in general should move communications to another spot... the creation of TA-Cube, I believe, will prove in the future to be one of the best revitalizing things that has happened to the team. The Duron/Athlon being the other! ;)

I wasn't going to post on this but I couldn't let it go. :Q

<He simply wishes to sell to his brothers and sisters before his cousins>

Excuse me, but I've always considered myself a brother, not cousin, to all Team Anandtechers.

There was a time when ALL Team Anandtech members were considered brothers and sisters, not just the members of the same mini-team, there were no cousins, distant relatives, etc. We were all close members of the Team Anandtech family. A number of us still feel that way.

There is already hurt feelings and a rift within the team (TA), and posts such as this one as well as Dennilfloss' comments just add fuel to the fire, and it becomes more us and them instead of just us, widening the rift instead of closing it. :(

Stanman can put whatever restrictions, exclusions, and conditions he wants on the offer, it's his stuff, but some of us would never ever think, let alone post to exclude a Team Anandtech member from an offer, or to turn a team member in need down because they didn't produce enough WUs per day. :|

TA Cube has done an excellent, mindboggling job of recruiting and assimilating for TA Cube. And yes, this has helped Team Anandtech's output greatly and is needed. I would just like to see them put as much effort in to promoting Team Anandtech, and that we are all on the same team.

Friendly mini-team competition is great, it can be fun, and let's not take it to the point we start forgetting we are all Team Anandtechers!

ahh, I can't help myself. when I joined TA I had one computer that I was leaving on 24-7, but then I began to get the resources to build a 2nd for the team. Because of my financial situaton I didn't have the money to do it, thus i was disapointed. A few people from these forums were gracious enough to send hardware to me free of charge. I recieved a 3com 10/100 nic, a 250 watt power supply a floppy drive and a 2x cdrom drive. these things were sent to me by people crunching RC5 and at the time I was doing seti. Those people opened their arms to help a fellow team member out with out asking anything of them. Now that is what a team is suppossed to be. And if anybody who helped me out is reading this, you will not be forgoten, especially when I get out of college and get a good job.

If any of you are trying to say that i am not dedicated to TA then how come in three weeks i am 80% of the Team AndTech production on Folding@Home? Where are all of you dedicated TA members that you can't donate a few clock cycles to a worthy medical cause? Maybe its to much trouble running a dos window?:|

Thats not at all what I personally am trying to say. I don't want to get into any type of argument at all about that. What I was trying to do is to get people to question where this team is heading.
