Discussion Tactics: Just completed Kotor1 again

There were some things I did differently this time.

1 - as opposed to my previous attempt that ended in the final room and then I couldn't complete it, I made sure to pick lightsaber throwing early on 😀
2 - Force powers: Energy resistance (an all-party effect protecting against blaster shots for 20 seconds), Valor in particular (which assists the entire party with saving throws for 20 seconds)
3 - Jedi robes asap (which are required for Valor for example)

In previous Kotor runs, I had to make liberal use of shields, stims, and in the final room I had to run away and heal a *lot*. This time I regrouped something like twice, and I barely used shields at all.

One of my old fallback tactics for later in the game is Force Wave, an AoE effect to knock down all enemies in a radius. 2 party members throwing down a bunch of these make short work of rancors for example.

One other thing I did which I don't know if it helped much was pick up Dominator gauntlets from the seller on Korriban for something like 8000 credits because they give +5 strength. Another thing was having a shedload of computer spikes ready at the end of the game because getting Star Forge Robes cost 25 spikes per set of robes. They're a bit better than the Qel-Droma (sp?) robes I think.

The other jedi power that I made some use of in this run was 'Force resistance' which I suspect helps somewhat against enemy jedi.

Do you have any other particularly useful tactics?
