I have 16 soft medium-sized tortillas (about 7.5" diameter).

What volume of sour cream will be sufficient as a garnish?

How many tomatoes should I get?

What about cilantro? That's a garnish. Sour cream is more of an accoutrement, as sour cream makes a taco even more delicious. Besides, did Mexicans even have sour cream when Tacos were invented?

If you get the large container of sour cream, i think its roughly 5 inches tall, then you will have plenty. As for tomatoes, 2 tomatoes about the size of a baseballish softball, or just use salsa.
