Yep. There are many smaller, regional fast food Mexican joints that beat the sh!t out of both of those chains.
La Salsa and Sharky's in CA are two that I can think of that are WORLDS better. The difference is like night and day.
Yeah, but places like La Salsa (eg Baja Fresh and Chipotle) can be almost double the price of Taco Bell and Del Taco. Not worth it most of the time IMHO.
Considering the fact that Taco Bell is the worlds most effective laxative in my body, the extra cost is more than worth it.
And IIRC, I never paid more than $6 for a Taquitos & Quesadilla Platter at La Salsa.
Just like anything else in the world, you get what you pay for.
Not that I'm accusing you of exaggerating or anything, but I've personally never had ANY Mexican food make me sick. I don't understand why there's this persistant belief that if you eat Taco Bell you better be very well aquainted with your toilet. Maybe I just have an unusually strong stomach from living overseas for so many years or something.
