Farmworkers picking tomatoes for Florida-based growers receive 40 ? 45 cents for every 32 pound bucket of tomatoes picked and earn, on average, $7,500 a year according to the Department of Labor. Their wages have remained unchanged in more than 20 years. In the past five years there have been three cases of debt-bondage slavery in the tomato fields that have been prosecuted by the U.S. Department of Justice and for which convictions and prison sentences have been handed down to crew leaders. Two more cases were uncovered in the fall of 2003.

Yep. There are many smaller, regional fast food Mexican joints that beat the sh!t out of both of those chains.
La Salsa and Sharky's in CA are two that I can think of that are WORLDS better. The difference is like night and day.

Yeah, but places like La Salsa (eg Baja Fresh and Chipotle) can be almost double the price of Taco Bell and Del Taco. Not worth it most of the time IMHO.

On a side note - I went to a Mexican restaurant on Saturday... I had 3 fajitas (make it yourself) with chicken and beef... all for a low low price of $15.95. My wife had a rice dish, a kahlua, and an guacamole appetizer - and the bill came out to $50.
Taco Bell rules.
