Tablets for kids, 7 and 5 year old?

I wish Apple would *finally* recognize the need for a "Kids Mode" and enable profiles where you can lock down functions on ipads/phones.

This. God, this. Still no profiles despite IOS7.

Considering your kids would care less about what they get out of a tablet, buy a nextbook from walmart and spend the money you saved on a brick of a protector cover.

There aren't really any good tablets for kids. The closest I found was the Acer Iconia range as they're pretty rugged. Terrible screens though.

Yeah, some of the Acers can be had for uber cheap, but the screens do suck.

Don't get a first gen Nexus 7, they'll break and be a write-off with a single drop.

Should be OK if you get a decent case, esp. if the rooms are carpeted. However, a decent case may blow the budget.
