Does anyone know of a PDF reader I should try that faster than the jellybean built in PDF reader? It doesn't have to be free, but if it's not I'd like a free or trial version to test it out. If I can squeeze any more speed out of this Nexus 7 with the vector pdf's I'd be one seroously happy chappy.

You should try ebookdroid. Go into the settings and tweak the performance section. You can change the number of pages cached and the number of threads used. Stock settings is very 'meh' performance just like every other pdf reader I've tried on my exynos 4 dual. With the cache up and multiple threads is great. Very noticable difference.

I was looking for GoodReader for Android for just this reason... was disappointed to find it's iOS only.

All the iPad weenies in the office were laughing at my little $250 toy, right up until I opened some drawings... shut them up damn fast. A couple actually looked like they wanted to cry after realizing their $850 iPad 3's are many times slower w/ vectors than this little toy of mine.

I have had much success with ezPDF reader opening large, non-vectored PDF drawings.

I'm not sure why you are posting this here. I responded to you in another thread showing my misgivings about the power of chromebooks. My ipad 2 is faster than my chromebook, let alone an ipad 3. May I ask why you think a chromebook can compete with the ipad 3 in terms of speed?

whachutalkinaboutwillis? your ipad 2 isnt faster than a celeron chomebook (samsung 550), and neither is an ipad 3. ipad 3 may be faster than an arm chromebook, but that wasnt available in july when i made that post

I am also in the camp of "meh" (or worse) when it comes to PDF handling of Nexus 7. I don't think my expectation was that high (coming from iPad 1) but various apps including its stock PDF viewer left a lot to be desired.

I kind of hoped that I could simply copy/paste PDF documents and read them without much noticing stutters, which quickly turned out to be a daydream. My current solution is to convert PDFs to Amazon's eBook format (.azw) and read in Kindle app. (I don't deal with vectors, just text and rasters.)

I am curious how Nexus 4 handles PDF, with its vastly superior hardware?
