Hey all..

I have been having a STRANGE issue..

I have a Toshiba Tablet, that when it is in "normal" mode ( standard laptop ) the internet barely works and is SLUGGISH..

When I flip the screen down to tablet mode, the damn thing runs like a rocket..

What could cause this?

ALL related to internet speed! Not hardware speed!

I also own a tablet, never had this problem. If anything it is related to the drivers I'd bet...

I doubt anyone here will be able to help, I'd call toshiba maybe it is a common problem with your unit.

Best I have to offer is check for both new video drivers and nic drivers. I say video because the change in the display from horizontal to vertical is the difference between the modes, possibly. Nic drivers because they are involved. After that, I would assume that something in the swivel is doing it. If you swing the display and leave it open (I know, you can't really see the screen from the keyboard), does it still work slow?

Edit - btw, wireless? Is the Toshiba one with the antenna/NIC in the monitor panel?

Gsellis..

Looks like a start,

I don't believe the Antenna is in the screen, as the Wireless on/off switch is at the base..

I am also going to contact toshiba and see what else I can possibly find.

Thanks!

Some HPs are the same way, but they put the antenna in the screen as when it is open, it is 'up'. Toshiba support and their forums should do you well.

You meant the web browsing software is slow, or the actual internet speed?

The former is probably caused by drivers or the web browser; The later one is probably because of teh orientation of antenna. But I admit it's kind of strange.
