Tablet not connecting to monitor, Hdmi cable related?

I have a TW700 Winbook tablet and I was trying to get it to connect to a LCD monitor that has a DVI output. I am using a Trip lite DVI to micro-hdmi connector to connect the tablet to the monitor (HP L1950g) but the tablet won't detect this monitor. I tried turning on-off, unplugging, going into windows display settings but the monitor does not appear. It is also not there in the device manager. So, I decided to try another brand monitor (Asus) and that one was detected fine by the tablet. Why is the HP not connecting? I read a few reviews at amazon about the Trip lite connector and one of the people there mentioned this:

"There ARE *various* types of DVI interfaces and they are not all interchangeable. The pinouts *do* vary among the different types of DVI. Most likely, you needed a different DVI version."

Should I get a different DVI to micro-hdmi cable? The specs for the HP monitor are here:

There appears to be an input select on the monitor, make sure it's set to DVI when you connect it. Also test the monitor and DVI adapter on another computer, if you can. Not many have micro-HDMI. Actually I think more digital cameras have uHDMI than computers.
