Is the Tab 8.9 big enough to view videos and web pages or is the 10.1 better suited? I tired the 7 inch version and thought it was too small...

I'd also opt for the 8.9" model. In fact, had I the cash, I'd buy one today.

i like the 8.9 size but isnt the screen resolution lower as well. for that reason i would go with the 10.1, in the long run youll be happier and its only a hundred bucks more isnt it?

i have a 10" tf101 and thats the first thing i thought as well... its actually too big.

for movies and entertainment its been great of course... just sit it on the table and its an instant tv...but to use as a handheld tool? i would like it smaller. 8.9 would probably be much more comfortable to use. 7" i agree is too small for many tasks (however, 7" would be fine for movies... where it sucks is web browsing and such)

Nope, they are both 1280x800 so you get better pixel density on the 8.9"

I prefer 8" tablets but I went with a Motorola Xyboard 8.2" over the Galaxy tab 8.9 because of the performance problems Tegra 2 devices like the 8.9 have. The Xyboard is also lighter than the 8.9" and even weighs less than many 7" tablets which makes it very comfortable to hold.

The XyBoards are damn good tablets, if you can deal with the locked bootloader. The OMAP4430 easily walks all over the Tegra 2. Given a choice between the Tab 8.9 and XyBoard 8.2, I'd take the Xyboard. I got the Tab 8.9 because it came with a free keyboard dock from BB.com.
