TA won't share materials with other sections

Here's the deal.
In my statistic class, there are 3 TAs. One of them has supplementary readings, midterm reviews, extra practice midterms posted on his website but they are restricted to his sections only. Why would someone do this? A lot of people including myself bitched about it in the messageboard and he still wouldn't give out the material.

The only reason I see him doing this is so he can get better evaluation from the students.

Probably because its his own material that he spent the extra time in obtaining them. He doesnt want the other TAs to enjoy the fruits of his labor. But I agree, in term for whats good for the students, he should hand them out to all.

Its that TA's extra work, if the three TA's are vying for a professorship or a full time job the one handing out the extra material and whos class is doing better will get a better review from the prof and most likely the review board. It sounds like the other 2 TAs aren't doing their jobs if the students are complaning they are not prepared and could use extra help.

Yep, this TA is doing his job for his section while the other TAs are not. Department is clearly not providing, or at least not providing sufficient amounts of, study materials for the particular class, so its up to the individual TAs to spend time and put things together. They are all paid the same regardless of the work put into it. I'll bet the TA in question probably did offer his materials in the past, but got chewed out by the other TAs for stepping on their toes, got flooded by other students in dif sections asking for help, or was just simply tired of not being appreciated for all he had done.

My friend Joey is in this class too, I think. He's been complaining about the same thing.

What really stir up the hornet's nest is that the TA posted a message in the class messageboard saying he has 10 pages of key points posted up, but it's restricted for his sections only.
If he wanted to keep it within his sections, he could have just send through his email list.

I sent him a private email requesting for a copy of the key points, he just ignored my message, so I can conclude that he is doing it for a selfish reason.
