P.S. Allio, you should pull that 2.00 client; V2.3 fixes some bugs that will appear in it around the n=8/9000000 mark.

Hey,

Can someone tell me how to install 2 instances on 1 machine. I do not need them running as a service, they can run in taskbar fine (i like to check my #'s)

I found that last night searching for an answer to why no work was being grabbed off the server.

The only thing is that I doo not need it to run as a service (it can run in Taskbar). I used to have it setup to run as a service but I could never see my cems/s per each client and if the clients were stuck and what not.

Also I would have to edit the bat files for a single P4 w/ HT....Easy to do?

according to the guys posting over there, it should be easy to convert to just 1 hyperthreading p4. as it looks you should just change the code ive listed in the attach code box below...

the only way i have been able to run SoB on a HT machine using both cpu's was to install as a service. if you install it as a service and then in the administrator tools/services options of windows, go to the Seventeen or Bust service and under the Log On tab of the service you can toggle on the option to 'Allow service to interact with desktop' and that will show you both the icons in the system tray 🙂

sobsvc -m :: (TOGGLE - monitors for the client being closed and restarts it)

sobsvc -k :: (TOGGLE - keeps the icons in the tray, so that you can check them)

sobsvc -s :: (TOGGLE - monitors for a stuck client and restarts it if necessary)

net start "Seventeen or Bust Service"

sobsvc -d :: (Displays the current parameters, use the TOGGLEs above to set them the way you want.)

DO I PUT THE -M AND -K TOGGELES UNDERNEATH THE SOBSVC -D? OR DO I LEAVE THEM WHERE THEY ARE

id leave everything just like it is. leave the -k and -m switches in their current positions.

Thanks for the information. I will be sure to try that out this evening. I cannot wait to see the output as it seems the client has been sped up. On an athlon 1.6ghz the Kcems/s are 850ish if i remember correctly. much higher than before!

On another note, are there daily updates anymore or is Confused not doing them anymore?

1472K cems/s and 1467 K cems/s..It's screaming by!

The only problem is that it doesnt list anandtech as my team when i put in my name (TitoTacos)...Is this normal until I submit a work Unit? (I have intermediate blocks turned off)

you need to enter your team name in your configuration. you need to enter 'Anandtech' under team name and that should solve that 🙂

oh man..talk about completely not thinking that one!!! One would think I haven't run SB for > a year...

I pm'd Confused about the SB stats so hopefully I receive a reply. I could do them if I receive the guidance 🙂

i havent run it in months (and dont even have it installed anymore) so im just going from memory over here. im just glad everything has worked out and you are crunching away 🙂
