I just came across a couple of unusual features that I saw on my T40.

1. ThinkLight (hold down the fn button and PgUp): a small light located at the top of the screen turns on
2. Magnifier (hold down the fn button and spacebar): basically magnifies your screen (sort of like the powertoy from MS)
3. I'm really impressed with T40's scrolling (so you can scroll up and down, just like the ones found in a mouse)
4. It comes with back/forward buttons. At first I was a bit reluctant to use the IBM thinkpoint, but I've found it so easy to use with the back/forward buttons and the scrolling button (great browsing experience)
5. Active Think Theme? wow, it's basically like having coolmon or whatever utility you use to display HD space, Wirless signal, Battery power, etc. (although i haven't quite figured out how the new mail works)
6. A way around not having a windows key is using the keyboard customization program and assigning a key to be your windows key (i chose the right alt key)

anyhow, as you can tell, I just received my laptop for a week now and I'm just trying to take full advantage of its capabilities!

if anyone came across any neat features let me know

The ThinkLight is an awesome feature (but no where near as elegant as Apple's solution), I'm suprised more laptop makers don't include a similar device

2. Magnifier (hold down the fn button and spacebar): basically magnifies your screen (sort of like the powertoy from MS)
I haven't ever needed to use this feature, but FYI it also maximizes the current window when it magnifies

3. I'm really impressed with T40's scrolling (so you can scroll up and down, just like the ones found in a mouse)
I assume you are referring to the scrolling using the TrackPad, I use it sometimes, but I'm usually using the TrackPoint

4. It comes with back/forward buttons. At first I was a bit reluctant to use the IBM thinkpoint, but I've found it so easy to use with the back/forward buttons and the scrolling button (great browsing experience)
I use the back button pretty often, but I wish it were in a more convenient location. And scrolling with the TrackPoint is the best.

5. Active Think Theme? wow, it's basically like having coolmon or whatever utility you use to display HD space, Wirless signal, Battery power, etc. (although i haven't quite figured out how the new mail works)
I haven't used the active theme, but I think I'll go try it out

6. A way around not having a windows key is using the keyboard customization program and assigning a key to be your windows key (i chose the right alt key)
I too set my right Alt key to be the windows key, I also set Ctrl to be the Application key. I do wish that the left Ctrl and Fn keys had their positions swapped though

anyhow, as you can tell, I just received my laptop for a week now and I'm just trying to take full advantage of its capabilities!
Congrats on your new T40!

I personally like Fn+F7, it brings up a menu to enable presentation mode, one click and it changes your desktop resolution to match the projector and it enables the VGA out
