T40 m-PCI Card?

Just got a T40 but didn't get the mPCI card with it for wireless access. I want to add one in the near future, but caught wind that only the cards from IBM would work in the T40. Is this true, or can I just order the Intel mPCI card (on Newegg for $55) and be ok?

Yes, only IBM provided cards work. First an IBM empolyee on the IBM forums said that it was for FCC compliance (the thread appears to have been deleted). Now another employee is saying that it is a CPU compatibility issue.

Basically it seems that IBM wants to force you to buy their cards.

I'm in the same boat as you, my T40 doesn't have built in wireless. I think I'm going to wait until IBM releases an 802.11g card and upgrade then.
