T1 setup/layout

I asked about this a while back, and no i am going to do this tomorrow and wanted to make sure i have everything correct(logically) before i do it:

I have a T1 with like 63 public IPs, i want to add a box with a public IP

Current setup:
T1 > CSU/DSU > Cisco 1601R > Linksys BEFSR41 (this is our DHCP/gateway)

What i am going to do is:
T1 > CSU/DSU > Cisco 1601R > 5port switch > Linksys > rest of network
> New box w/public IP

I will plug the cisco into the uplink on the 5 port switch?
Forgive my "dumbness" but i know nothing about ciscos, will i have to change anything in it?
TIA for the help...

Wow, you have 63 IP addresses and used only one ???
Well I think you're in the right direction there,
I will plug the cisco into the uplink on the 5 port switch?
You can now use the other ports of the switch for machines with public IP.....
I wish I have 63 IP's 🙁

Yah, its off of my work's T1. Their network layout sucks. The linksys is our DHCP and gateway! I keep telling them they need to run SOME sort of servers on those IP's

So i'll statically assign:
IP: xx.xx.xx.xx
subnet: same as the router subnet(b/c same block of IPs)
gateway: ??

What do i set as the gateway, someone said to use the Cisco IP, but i dont think it has an IP? This is the only other part i am confused about...

While I don't agree with your setup either (but I know how having to live with it goes), anything you plug into that switch will have to have its gateway set to the inside IP address of that Cisco router (probably one of your block of public IPs). The problem is that any server or box you plug into that switch has absolutely no protection and is sitting wide open with a public IP. A good firewall like a PIX would help protect access to those servers and only allow the ports you need to be open.

Hope that helps...

Ya, i found the cisco IP by looking at the gateway for the Linksys. Thanks for the help.

Regarding the firewall: Yes, i did realize that this(one) server will sit wide open. This is for personal use(yes i got permission) so I cant get the company to buy a firewall and sure as heck cant afford to get one myself. I installed a software firewall on the machine and am locking that down pretty tight though, hopefully its enough for now. This is going to be a counterstrike server.
