T1 Router / IPSec Passthru

My current office connection is really expensive and goes through our corporate office then out to the internet which is extremely slow. We can save money and have a faster connection by having our own connection directly to the internet. We were thinking of getting the Netopia R5300 Router. Anyone know if this is a good router and if it is easy to configure? The only way that we can do this is if we are able to setup a VPN connection to the corporate office. This router supports IPSec Passthru which is what the corporate office said they use. They also said that the IPSec protocol probably will not work correctly or provide poor security because this router was not made specifically to work with the hardware that they have. Is this true? How do I find out if this router will accomplish what we want? Thanks.
